Road Trip

A road trip with a teething baby and a sick husband is brutal.

It was  worth it for this view! This is Bryce Canyon in Utah! If you plan to visit, staying at Rubby’s Inn is the way to go. We were able to take a free tour of the park right from the hotel.  This tour is very much worth your time.  You drive out to Rainbow Point while bus driver shares some interesting info. The tour is 3.5 hour long with several stops to see the different sites.  You can take your stroller with you and the driver will stow it under the bus and get it out for you as many stops as you would like.  You can also take your car seat on the bus and simply sit it on the seat next to you! Just remember to get your park pass before you go because they will ask to see it!

After the tour you can enjoy an entertaining cowboy dinner show at Ebenezer Bar and Grill.  You can walk to the show from Ruby’s Inn for a real cowboy experience!

If you are staying another day then I would suggest you go for a hike in the park.  One of the park favorites is the Navajo Loop which connects to Queens Garden trail! After the hike you can enjoy a little horseback riding and one of the many pools at Ruby’s. And there is still more to enjoy; mountain biking, atv tours, scenic flights, and rodeos! You could spend a full three days in Bryce Canyon with plenty to keep you occupied!

Bryce Canyon is truly and awe-inspiring  destination.  If you can help it, don’t go in the dead of summer.  And remember, you are at a high elevation. Drink a lot of water to try to avoid altitude sickness.  Altitude sickness can strike when you least expect it, no matter how fit or “used” to elevation you think you may be!
